Rex Diff and Gearbox (RDG) specializes in the repair and supply of service exchange and new gearboxes, differentials, prop shafts, steering boxes and clutches of all automatic and manual cars, LDVs, SUVs and Trucks. Management has stated that they also work on all major makes of construction vehicles and agricultural vehicles.
When the business started, they approached a used car
dealer and two Delta Dealers (Now GM) for work. With
absolutely no advertising at all, their name and reputation
spread like wild fire. Gayle Rex proudly states that
RDG has been
recognized as experts in their field and have been approved
as the gearbox and differential service provider by a number
of leading motor vehicle manufacturers. Management is in agreement that one of the attributes that make RDG unique in today’s industry is their superb customer service they offer to their clients. They have assured the Chamber that they make it a priority to form long lasting, rewarding friendships with their clients and ensure that their client’s needs are always put first. Gayle stated that RDG takes great satisfaction in empowering their customers and staff, thus giving them the confidence in knowing that they are being taken care of at all times.
Another great
characteristic of RDG is the dedication and commitment of
their staff members in ensuring that the work performed is
of superior quality. RDG boasts skills of some of the most
technically advanced engineers in the gearbox industry. The
repair of gearboxes and differentials is a highly
specialized, involved and difficult field that must be
performed by experts, backed up with a very good support
team and a strong financial infrastructure. In order for
these experts to perform at their very best, they require
the right tools and a clean, safe working environment which
is well managed and organized. The Chamber is proud to
confirm the above working conditions of RDG. Management has stated that RDG is passionate about customer care and in particular after sales service. They are of the belief that their unrivalled guarantee and excellent workmanship separates them from other gearbox and differential repairers, which gives them an edge in today’s cut throat industry.
RDG also holds membership with the Retail Motor Industry Organization, and has been appointed by the Automobile Association of South Africa as an approved specialist repairer, thus ensuring that the work being done onsite adheres to their quality standards.
Management assures the Chamber that all parts used by RDG are guaranteed to be of superior quality, and where necessary, they import parts for guaranteed satisfaction.
Management has firmly stated to the Chamber that RDG does not walk away from mistakes. If, in the rare event, their unit fails, they will do what ever they can to alleviate the problem in the soonest possible time frame and get your vehicle mobile again. Their philosophy is based upon quality and not quantity. Management said that they would rather spend their time valuing their current, loyal customers and ensuring that they are entirely happy with their product and service, than churning out the masses and producing a more inferior product. But wait there’s more; they have recently built a brand new Automatic gearbox repair bay. This high tech, dust free bay is equipped with highly specialized equipment.
They have purchased a
brand new Carmen Scan Diagnostic machine. This premium OEM
level hand held scanner with live data, oscilloscope, DVOM,
simu-can, acti-scan, graphing actuation, flight record
component activation, PC interface and printing facilities,
conforms to all European, Japanese, Korean, Australian and
USA diagnostic specs. It is equivalent to the high-scan
diagnostic machine used in most OEM’s workshops/ plants. RDG offers a full technical support system/ service, with which they are able to report any faults found, directly to the team of technicians at the OEM plant, thus enabling problems to be solved whilst a vehicle is still in production.
Management has informed the Chamber that in several instances in the past, their engineers have devised innovative solutions to combat recurring problems found on specific models of cars and/ or units. Their foresight in this regard has eliminated unnecessary bad publicity on these types of vehicles.
Once a problem is detected they encourage their clients to come to their premises and inspect the unit for themselves. They will dismantle the unit in front of the client and explain exactly what the problem is. In the event that the client is unable to be present and inspect the unit in person. They have facilities to take digital photographs and send them via e-mail. Clients are then welcome to get a second opinion (an outside opinion) if the need arises.
RDG also does Diff lock conversions on all applicable vehicles and perform limited slip conversions on differentials as well. They also perform modifications to both gearboxes and differentials which extend the unit’s lifespan.
Management strongly believes that service excellence has no borders. RDG is situated in the heart of Boksburg. This central business hub is ideally situated near to the JHB International Airport, and close to the N12 highway.
Their team of drivers are committed to providing all clients with the best possible service, and are available to collect or deliver entire cars or loose units at anytime and anywhere.
Management has stated that there is no location with in the Southern African Common Customs area that they do not serve. The drivers are frequently sent out on scheduled routes through the entire country as well as neighbouring countries, whilst on these routes, they are able to assist in the collection of core units (damaged units) thereby saving customers time and effort in sending them to RDG.
If the company has committed to a delivery time, they will make every effort to abide by it.
In closing Gayle Rex assured the Chamber that RDG will do whatever it takes to make sure that a customer’s every need and expectation will not only be met, but surpassed. |
